Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship

The Blount Center serves to advance economic development in the college’s service district through the growth of business and IT programs, increased access to higher education for the citizens of East Gainesville and entrepreneurial activities in downtown Gainesville. It is home to the college’s bachelor’s, A.S. degree and certificate programs in Business Programs and Information Technology Education (ITE); and provides incubation services to support entrepreneurs and accelerate the success of local startup companies through the Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED).

Community Education

Santa Fe College began offering Community Education classes starting in 1972 to provide educational opportunities to the residents of Alachua and Bradford counties. Community Education provides roughly 125 classes three times a year in arts & crafts, astronomy, dance, finance, performing arts, technology, sports & fitness, languages, photography, outdoor adventures, and more. Some classes offer a waiver for seniors to make educational opportunities more accessible and affordable.

ACB Excel

ACB Excel Program is an SF initiative that provides parents and their school-aged children with access to academic programs and services, simultaneously.  Parents get rapid credentialing for high-wage, in-demand jobs, while their children engage in enriching activities that support their well-being. This two-generational approach is free for all participants, improves economic stability and strengthens individual families. As parents and their children work together, they Achieve, Conquer and Believe in each other’s success; that is the transformational power of the ACB Excel initiative.
