The Gators have played, Thanksgiving has passed,
Temperatures are dropping, it’s chilly at last.
All these things happening, could mean only one thing…
The holidays are here, it’s time to go shopping.
Here is a guide to unique and local gifts in Greater Gainesville for the 2021 holiday season.
The perfect gift
Aptly named, The Perfect Gift, located in Haile Village, has something for everyone on the shopping list.
Toys and books, local art and jewelry, stationary, an impressive wine selection and much more will prevent the need to frantically hit numerous shops to complete holiday shopping. This charming boutique will not only satisfy retail needs but offers a relaxing shaded patio to enjoy a bottle of wine, glasses provided and no corking fee.
The Perfect Gift is located at 5202 S.W. 91st Terrace.
The environmentally friendly gift
For a truly unique and functional present, give the gift of nature and mosquito control by having a bat house installed at a loved one’s residence.
Florida’s diverse bat species are rapidly disappearing. Bat houses are one of the ways to actively contribute to the preservation of these amazing creatures.
Prices range according to the bat house size and accommodations. Contact the Lubee Bat Conservancy for more information regarding the installation.
The sustainable gift
Show love to both the Earth and the community by shopping the low waste and local products at Life Unplastic located in Thornebrook Village.
This altruistic shop truly embodies its motto, “reduce.reuse.refill.rethink.” with their refillable station and sustainable goods. Products by local businesses including Earth Tonix and Bookish Apothecary can be purchased both at the Thornebrook location or online.
Life Unplastic is located at 2441 N.W. 43rd St., Ste. 24B-1, Gainesville.
