The VANAD Group, the Dutch company that announce in June that it had chosen Gainesville as its U.S. headquarters, is spreading a wide net in hiring.
“We want to hire a team, not individuals,” said CEO Arthur Nederlof at a meeting at the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday (Oct. 28).
VANAD is following the formula it developed in Europe to hire based on character more than on paper qualifications in order to form a high-functioning team.
“The questions we ask are, ‘Who are you?, What makes you happy?’” he said. “We measure the happiness of our people before we measure the happiness of our clients. We know that if our employees are happy, our clients will be happy.
Nederlof visited Gainesville this past week to collaborate with the University of Florida, Santa Fe College, CareerSource North Central Florida, the Gainesville Dev Academy and other groups. “Everyone has the goal of making us successful,” he said.
The company designs and implements a wide variety of cloud-based customer service technologies. For information, contact Les Giddings, VANAD’s vice president of professional and implementation services, at [email protected].
