Neighborhoods in Gainesville | Haile

Each of the neighborhoods in Gainesville are as vibrant and diverse as the surrounding community – but one, in particular, stands out. Stunning landscapes, neighborly camaraderie and a convenient location make Haile Plantation one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Gainesville.

The Haile Experience

Enveloped in canopies of branches and Spanish moss, Haile Plantation stretches over 1,700 acres. This residential gem is one of the most well-known neighborhoods in Gainesville. With more than 2,600 homes, it is made up of several smaller uniquely charming neighborhoods. Paved walkways and paths twist and turn throughout the cozy conglomerate of homes.

Haile Plantation was established in the 1970s and is Gainesville’s original Live, Work, Play community. It attracts a diverse residential population of young professionals, small families and retirees alike. With an active community, residents enjoy the scenery by walking or biking the many trails scattered throughout the property.

Haile Village Center

Residents meander down the three-mile Haile Loop, passing various neighborhoods and rolling greens, to find themselves at the charming Haile Village Center. Within this quaint place of commerce are various restaurants and shops, a café, a bistro, law and medical offices and hair salons. On Saturdays, local farmers and artisans set up shop at the Haile Village Center to bring the community fresh produce, meats, seafood, flowers and local honey. The village center hosts seasonal festivals and events, such as the annual Oktoberfest and Light the Village in December.

Hawkstone Country Club in Haile

After a relaxing day on the links, golfers can enjoy a drink overlooking the 18th hole at 44 South, Hawkstone Country Club’s restaurant and bar. Members can relax in one of the two pools, work out in the health and fitness center or get competitive on the tennis, pickleball and basketball courts. Themed events are hosted throughout the year for members at their outdoor cabana bar.
