A few years ago, Staples ran the now-famous “easy button” ad campaign. The underlying message: We are overloaded by our complicated lives and don’t have the time or the resources to accomplish everything.
The team at Lowry Financial Advisors understands that, which is why the firm’s mantra is “Achieving Simplicity®.”
“We understand that there are other things that our clients want to do with their time [other than financial planning],” said Joseph Lowry Jr., managing partner at the firm. “Our job is to know our clients — who they are, what they do and what they want to accomplish — and then manage the financial issues that they find complex and challenging.”
“People value relationships that make their lives simple,” he added. “By partnering with us, they have someone who is accountable.”
To achieve this level of trust and understanding, every client relationship begins with a planning meeting to first assess the client’s needs and desires and then determine how to assemble the company’s resources to achieve the client’s overall goals.
The firm was originally established by Joseph Lowry Sr. in 1978 as The Lowry Group Inc. in Miami. Concurrent with Lowry Jr. becoming a full partner in 2004, the Lowrys then began operating the firm under Lowry Financial Advisors Inc.
In 2013, veteran financial advisor Wendy Person joined the team as a planning associate. Person assists with the creation and maintenance of financial plans and performs investment analyses, but clients typically interact with the Joes, as they are known to many clients. The duo provides a unique approach to planning: Joe Sr. is more intuitive, while Joe Jr. is more analytical. Despite their different approaches, they consistently arrive at the same conclusions.
The Lowrys believe this can be attributed to their close working relationships with clients. Lowry Sr. says that clients appreciate the approach because they get “the benefit of two different perspectives” from two consultants who maintain consistent values and desires for their clients’ wellbeing.
Lowry Sr. equates it to the practice of medicine: Clients are like patients, relying on the broad knowledge that two specialists can provide.
“We are able to more adequately diagnose because we understand the person enough to determine what tools are necessary to address his or her needs,” Lowry Jr. said.
The Lowrys work with a variety of clients, from those who have recently completed professional training and are starting their investment portfolios to those who are retiring and recognize their need for financial advice.
“There is no defined single group,” Lowry Jr. said.
Lowry Sr. added: “We address whatever is important to someone in any walk of life. If it’s important to you, it’s important to us.”
It’s that simple.
