Peachtree Hotel Group and Celebration Pointe Holdings announced Thursday (August 3) that construction has begun for the 140-room Hotel Indigo at Celebration Pointe.

The hotel, which Peachtree Hotel Group will operate, is expected to open in August 2018.

The Hotel Indigo Gainesville is one of the anchor tenants in   Celebration Pointe, a mixed-use development located west of I-75 and north of Archer Road. Celebration Pointe also includes dining, entertainment, shopping, business and living options.

“Gainesville has long since grown beyond being just a ‘college town,’ and Celebration Pointe was designed to capture the growing number of business and leisure travelers to the community,” said Lee Shuman, Peachtree Hotel Group’s director of project management.

The six-story Hotel Indigo will face a park setting, and it will feature plush bedding, hard-surface flooring with area rugs and spa-inspired bathrooms. It will include a neighborhood bar with seasonal and locally sourced food.

Celebration Pointe won’t just be for residents of Gainesville – guests will be able to enjoy a best in class 140-room Hotel Indigo. Set to open by mid 2018, this uniquely designed hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the main street and within walking distance of Celebration Pointe’s restaurants, entertainment, retail and office.

“Today’s guests are focused on experiential travel, desiring to feel like they’re a part of the community as opposed to nameless tourists,” said Patrick O’Neil, president of Peachtree Hospitality Management.

“To those ends, in addition to our localized food and beverage offerings, the hotel also will feature Hotel Indigo’s new Neighborhood Guide, an innovative touchscreen display that connects guests to each other and the local neighborhood and to sister hotels worldwide. Our team members, many of whom will be locals themselves, will be well-versed in a variety of helpful recommendations.”

Ralph Conti, co-managing partner of Celebration Development Partners, welcomed the construction. “We’re very excited about getting this very important piece of the overall project out of the ground,” he said. “The Hotel Indigo brand coincides very nicely with the overall experience we will deliver for all who set foot on this property.”

“I fully expect this will be the region’s signature hotel,” said Sean McIntosh, senior vice president of Asset Management for Celebration Pointe. “We are delighted to have Hotel Indigo as a part of the Celebration Pointe family.”

The 150-acre Celebration Pointe expects to reach 1 million square feet of space, including 300,000 square feet of office space and 400,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space. About 900 residential units are planned.
