CrossFit

CrossFit is a conditioning program like no other. Instructing a broad stroke approach to both physical and mental well-being, CrossFit is geared toward the committed individual who thrives on communal support and results.

Everyone, young and old, can benefit from CrossFit training. The routines never change; they are scaled to the individual and his or her needs. So, whether professional or amateur, fit or physically limited, Olympian or hobbyist, cage fighter or cheerleader, the right plan is personalized to amplify the results of each participant. Unlike other programs where members get lost in the crowd or thrown onto a machine, the support from the Coaches at CrossFit is incomparable—they care greatly about each individual.

Nutrition is another aspect of CrossFit, as I like to say, “You can’t run a racecar on regular gasoline.” You must make better eating choices if you are going to demand more of your body. The diets of today, that is to say the food that we choose to sustain our bodies, are heavily processed, refined and full of chemicals that cause a multitude of health problems (diabetes, coronary heart disease, cancer, and of course obesity). These foods are to be avoided! Read labels to escape the “Big 3”: trans-fats, hormones and antibiotics, and high fructose corn syrup. The base of your diet should be organic green vegetables, like kale and chard, in addition to lean meats, nuts and seeds, little to no sugars, and starches. Avoid canned foods, as they have very high sodium content. Also try to avoid the center of the grocery store where preservatives hang out.

Be well and stay healthy to live a long rewarding life. Find a CrossFit and give it a try—you won’t be sorry! As a matter of fact, you will be greatly rewarded.
