Came to Greater Gainesville in 2009

What is something you wish you knew before moving here?

I wish I knew how much more there was outside of the University area. Scenic nature, vibrant dining and nightlife, and a thriving business community.

What is your favorite local food?

I must say, the Gainesville pizza scene is strong. So many options to choose from. If pizza isn’t your thing, there is almost every authentic genre of food you can think of, from Jamaican, to French, to Indian, to Asian.

What is your favorite time of year and/or favorite weather conditions?

I would say summertime. I don’t mind the heat and as an Alachua County Volunteer Storm spotter, I love the daily thunderstorms in the afternoons. However, the beautiful spring weather in April is a close second.

Where do you go to escape into nature?

There is a thriving park scene, but I would say a run down the Hawthorne Trail. I also enjoy going on drives through the rolling countryside, which is only about 10 minutes outside of town.
