As patients and families enter the Sebastian Ferrero Atrium at Shands Children’s Hospital, they are welcomed by a vibrant sculpture. The piece, entitled “Tomorrow,” was created by internationally acclaimed artist Romero Britto for the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation. In honor of the foundation, the sculpture serves as a beacon of hope for patients and represents their tomorrows. Using a variety of colors and patterns, Britto created a piece that matches the intended atmosphere of the pediatric hospital — one of optimism and positivity. The sculpture features what appears to be a young boy releasing a butterfly into the sky, but art is always open to interpretation.
