Greater Gainesville’s Spring Parade of Homes™ 2024

By Ryan Walsh

Nothing says “Spring” quite like a parade.

Greater Gainesville’s 66th annual Spring Parade of Homes™ will take place on May 4th-5th and May 11th-12th. This event celebrates the local builders, developers, designers, suppliers and many more that contribute to the beautiful and unique homes of the GG community.

The Spring Parade of Homes™, hosted by the Builders Association of North Central Florida (BANCF) since 1958, has seen more than 2,200 homes across 300 neighborhoods in Alachua County. As always, it is free to members of the public.

BANCF Events Director Emily Robinson has been with the association for over eight years. She manages and coordinates the Parade of Homes™ events each year.

“This year, we’re going to have several new subdivisions showcasing in the Parade of Homes™,” Robinson said. “Their inclusion will make this year’s event even better than the last one.”

The Parade of Homes™ provides an opportunity for builders, developers, contractors and designers to showcase their work. These homes will feature many innovative styles and up-and-coming trends in the industry. Robinson highlights a few to keep an eye out for this year.

“One thing we’re seeing more of this year is people incorporating dedicated workout rooms,” Robinson said. “It definitely reflects the trend we’re seeing of people becoming more mindful about health.”

Other notable trends this year include open-concept designs that focus on family living, larger entertainment spaces and hidden butler pantries in kitchens. Designs focused on conserving energy will also have a large emphasis.

While the talented people behind the homes receive their due, the parade itself is for the public. Future homebuyers can discover new neighborhoods or unique home designs, while current homeowners can find some remodeling inspiration.

“Even if you’re not in the market to purchase something new at the moment, the parade is perfect for anyone looking for remodeling ideas or looking for contacts for subcontractors,” Robinson said. “It’s also great for anyone who wants to speak to a builder representative directly.”

Each home in the parade will have a dedicated representative to provide background and additional information for viewers. With so many participating vendors and homes, routes can be decided by attendees. A good place to start might be whichever featured homes or neighborhoods are closest.
