JEFFREY J. LANE has been promoted to fire chief by Gainesville City Manager Russ Blackburn. After joining Gainesville Fire Rescue in 1990, Lane has compiled a wide range of experiences in emergency services. “Chief Lane has accomplished much as interim fire chief during the past four months and has aptly demonstrated his considerable talents,” Blackburn said. “I expect that Chief Lane will set new standards for the tradition of excellence the department has achieved.”

JOHN CARMEAN named director of communications and creative services at Santa Fe College.

JOHN CORNEILSON has joined Meridian Behavioral Healthcare as the new vice president of finance and accounting/comptroller. He brings 22 years of experience in the industrial accounting field. “I am excited about the opportunities that this organization offers, both in terms of its mission and accounting activities,” Corneilson said in a recent press release.

RHONDA COOPER-DEHOFF, PHARM.D., M.S., FAHA, FACC, has been awarded the American College of Cardiology’s 2015 Distinguished Associate Award in recognition of her extensive cardiovascular research. “Her work has provided critical insight into risks of lowering blood pressure excessively and the risks of some blood pressure medications to cause diabetes, among other contributions,” said Julie Johnson, dean of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, in a university press release. This is the first time the award has been given to a pharmacist.

BOB PAGE, the executive vice president of Florida Citizens Bank, was appointed to the national board of directors of the Independent Community Bankers of America, which provides support and recognition for over 5,000 community banks across the nation.

CAREERSOURCE NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA has ushered in seven new board members: Cindy Regen, John Hartnett, Jeffrey Weisberg, Karen Smith, Dr. Owen Roberts, Vickie Van Buren and Delphine Jackson. “Our board members have widespread, impressive backgrounds serving both the business sector and job seekers. Their contributions build upon our goal of developing a qualified workforce,” said Thomas McIntosh, CareerSource NCFL board chair and president and owner of Berkshire Hathaway Trend Realty and Trend Management Solutions.

THE GAINESVILLE TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL has selected its 2015 Council Board of Directors. The thirteen executives will work toward increasing regional job opportunities, capital investment and the number of companies in the IT sector. “We are extremely pleased and impressed with the 2015 council board, which encompasses an outstanding group of successful entrepreneurs and regional executives,” said Todd Powell, chairman of the Council for Economic Outreach. “We look forward to a successful year under their leadership.”

JAMES MOORE welcomes Ericka Hernandez, Shardae Jones, Natalie Jean Petruska and Dawn Taylor to the firm. Hernandez and Jones join the firm as data entry assistants. Petruska and Taylor will serve as staff consultants in the Accounting and Controllership Services department.
