JEFFREY J. LANE has been promoted to fire chief by Gainesville City Manager Russ Blackburn. After joining Gainesville Fire Rescue in 1990, Lane has compiled a wide range of experiences in emergency services. “Chief Lane has accomplished much as interim fire chief during the past four months and has aptly demonstrated his considerable talents,” Blackburn said. “I expect that Chief Lane will set new standards for the tradition of excellence the department has achieved.”

JOHN CORNEILSON has joined Meridian Behavioral Healthcare as the new vice president of finance and accounting/comptroller. He brings 22 years of experience in the industrial accounting field. “I am excited about the opportunities that this organization offers, both in terms of its mission and accounting activities,” Corneilson said in a recent press release.
RHONDA COOPER-DEHOFF, PHARM.D., M.S., FAHA, FACC, has been awarded the American College of Cardiology’s 2015 Distinguished Associate Award in recognition of her extensive cardiovascular research. “Her work has provided critical insight into risks of lowering blood pressure excessively and the risks of some blood pressure medications to cause diabetes, among other contributions,” said Julie Johnson, dean of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, in a university press release. This is the first time the award has been given to a pharmacist.
BOB PAGE, the executive vice president of Florida Citizens Bank, was appointed to the national board of directors of the Independent Community Bankers of America, which provides support and recognition for over 5,000 community banks across the nation.

THE GAINESVILLE TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL has selected its 2015 Council Board of Directors.
