Kevin Griffin joins Treweek Insurance Agency as a partner. Griffin, formerly of the Florida Farm Bureau brings 28 years of experience to the firm. Tim Treweek, managing member and co-founder of the company praised Griffin, “Kevin is among the most talented and highly regarded insurance professionals in our community and his passion for providing incredibly great client care falls in line with why we formed Treweek Insurance Agency more than seven years ago.”

Gina Hall, a broker for Watson Realty Corp., was named president of the Gainesville/ Alachua County Association of Realtors (GACAR) for 2015. Having served on the board of directors for several years, Hall has had vast involvement with the association. Her goal as president is to enhance GACAR services, support and advocacy programs for real estate professionals.

J. Parrish, broker and owner of Coldwell Banker M.M. Parrish Realtors, was welcomed by Gainesville Multiple Listing Inc. as the association’s new president. Having served as president of the Gainesville/ Alachua County Association of Realtors in 2008, Parrish is well prepared to further improve the services of GML. “It is our highest priority to provide the best system and data available,” Parrish said in a recent press release.

Nancy Armstrong recently joined the Gateway Bank of Central Florida as assistant vice president and branch manager for the bank’s Alachua office. With over 12 years of banking experience, Armstrong is expected to make a great addition to the team.

Exactech has announced its acquisition of BlueOrtho SAS, a French manufacturing firm focused on developing surgical technology. Exactech produces orthopaedic implant devices and surgical instruments for doctors and physicians, and the company has been working with BlueOrtho since 2009. Together, Exactech and BlueOrtho developed ExactechGPS, a Guided Personalized Surgery system. “By welcoming them officially to the Exactech team, we broaden our engineering competencies to benefit our planned future developments,” said Xavier Sarabia, the Exactech vice president of engineering and development.

The Institute for Workforce Innovation was awarded a $7,000 grant by YouthBuild USA. The money will be used to initiate a mentoring program for Project YouthBuild students. The program has garnered national support from the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and promises to help individuals ages 16 to 24 achieve their full potential. IWI is currently seeking entrepreneurs, business professionals and community leaders who are willing to put forth the time and effort to improve the community.

GACAR honored five individuals and installed many others at the annual GACAR Installation and Awards Banquet. Among the honorees were J. Parrish, who was presented the Tom Dobson Past President Award for his high level of involvement with the organization; Eric Remy and Leslie Remy of FBC Mortgage received the Business Partners of the Year Award; David Flagg was awarded the James M. Parrish Community Leadership Award for his contribution to the community; and finally, Greta Rice, a broker for Tioga Realty, received the Realtor of the Year Award.

Gavin Johnson has joined Front Street Commercial Real Estate Group as associate director in the firm’s Gainesville office. As a former employee of Crossman & Company, Johnson has gained vast experience in leasing. “We’re very excited to have Gavin join our team,” said Nick Banks, managing director of Front Street. “He has the experience and skillset to further enhance our commercial brokerage business in the markets we serve.”

United Way promoted Jennifer Stojkovic and Sylvia Waldman to director of community impact and director of database systems, respectively. “These two ladies have demonstrated a commitment and loyalty to the United Way’s mission of focusing on issues to build solutions through collaboration, giving and advocacy,” said Deborah Bowie, president and CEO of the United Way of North Central Florida. “We are pleased to help support their professional development within the organization.”

Cory Presnick was hired as the new vice president of finance/ controller of Butler Enterprises. With 10 years of experience in finance and a specialization in real estate, he was “the obvious choice” for the job, according to Deborah Butler, president of Butler Enterprises. “We look forward to a prosperous future with him on our team.”

CHW has recently introduced its new identity accompanied by a logo that highlights the company’s mission, vision and values, as well as their position as leaders of the industry.
