Exactech President David Petty promoted to CEO. Petty will replace his father, Dr. Bill Petty, who has served as co-founder and CEO of the company since 1985. Said Petty, “I enthusiastically accept the challenge of leading Exactech as CEO. We owe a great deal to my father for his vision and determination in founding Exactech and his wise and thoughtful leadership over the years.”

Donald L. Heck named partner in Brame Architects firm. Heck, an American Institute of Architects Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design-accredited professional and University of Florida graduate, has been with Brame Architects for 10 years. Heck specializes in commercial and institutional facilities as well as educational and historic preservation.

Jerry Benton named president and CEO of Campus USA Credit Union. Benton, previously chief operations officer, will replace Larry Scott, who served as Campus USA Credit Union’s president for the past 23 years. “We couldn’t be happier with the board’s decision to select Jerry as my successor,” Scott said in a press release. “He is an excellent leader who is well respected in our industry, by our staff and the communities we serve. He has been instrumental in our growth and success over the last 14 years.”

Donnie Ellington reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Transportation Commission through Sept. 2017. Ellington, a University of Florida graduate, is a facilities and construction manager for Nanotherapeutics, a privately held emerging biopharmaceutical company in Progress Park.

Douglas S. Jones was elected president of the Association of Science Museum Directors at the annual association meeting in March. Jones, director of the Florida Museum of Natural History, has been a member of the museum directors association since 1996 and has served on the board for six years. “I am honored to serve the ASMD as president, being a huge believer in the role of science museums in advancing the public’s understanding and appreciation of science in today’s society,” Jones said.

Niya Dix joins Union Properties of Gainesville Inc. as a leasing professional. Dix will be the primary leasing specialist for single-family homes and condos in Gainesville, bringing with her four years of experience in the real estate industry including sales, rehabs, leasing and property management.

Jennifer Denault has been promoted to chief operating officer at the Cade Museum. Denault has served as Cade’s development director since April 2012. Over the course of her career, Denault has also served as the regional director of the American Heart Association and director of development at the University of Florida Foundation.

Rick Cain named director of Front Street Commercial Real Estate Group. Cain, a Wake Forest graduate, has served as a member of the Gainesville Downtown Redevelopment Advisory Board, the Downtown Public Safety Task Force and the Hospitality Resource Network. “I was drawn to Front Street’s unique team approach,” Cain said in a Front Street press release. “A true team approach to serving the needs of our clients and giving 10 percent of brokerage revenue to local charity are business practices unheard of in the commercial brokerage business.
