Santa Fe College has a long history of supporting and promoting the creative arts. Many graduates from the college’s music, dance, theater and graphic arts programs have launched successful careers in our local community and beyond. The Northwest Campus is home to several art galleries where a rotation of exhibits fills the college calendar.
Art Exhibits
SF’s Blount Hall now includes a large art collection from local collector Hector Puig. The exhibit is part of a much larger collection Puig donated to Santa Fe College to inspire new generations of artists. This collection includes approximately 2,800 Santos carvings and approximately 2,000 framed works. The collection has been estimated to be worth in excess of $5
million dollars.
Museum and Earth Science
Santa Fe College’s Museum of Earth Science is home to over 1,700 mineral, fossil and rock samples around the world. The museum also has martian and lunar meteorites and other “rocks
from space.” Approximately 70 percent (about 1,200) of the specimens in the museum are from the John Withey Collection.
