Studio32 Orthodontics Creates Smiles in Our Community
At Studio32 Orthodontics, the patient experience is the primary focus. In August 2012, Dr. Nicole Mullally opened her orthodontic practice in Gainesville, allowing her to commit to quality rather than quantity. Having previously worked at a corporate practice, Mullally, a Gator alumna and mother of three, began Studio32 with a heavy emphasis on customer service.
“I wanted to do things my own way, where I could really focus on building relationships with patients,” Mullally remembered.
Although Gainesville is her hometown, Mullally has done her fair share of traveling. Having completed her undergraduate studies as a biology major at Vanderbilt University, Mullally lived abroad in England for some time. She then went on to pursue her Masters degree in Medical Sciences at the University of Florida. She continued her studies to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Degree at UF, where she graduated magna cum laude. Mullally then left Gainesville to earn her master’s degree and Certificate in Orthodontics at Marquette University, but it wasn’t long before Mullally returned to the swamp to settle down.
“Gainesville is a special place, and I think it offers a great quality of life for raising kids,” Mullally said. “Gainesville has a great mix of culture, nature and sports with a small-town feel. Plus, all of the benefits of having a world class university here.”
The practice is constantly growing, thanks in part to support from the Gainesville community, especially through positive word-of-mouth recommendations by many patients and local dentists. In only three and a half years, Mullally has built a thriving practice by forming personal relationships with each patient. Her wish is for each patient to leave feeling important and confident.
“We’re trying to bring out their inner beauty with a smile,” explained Mullally. “As we bring out that beautiful smile, we’re bringing out their confidence.”
Mullally takes the time to thoroughly explain the orthodontic journey to her patients and answer any questions they might have. She and her staff of orthodontic assistants work to make the experience enjoyable, while creating beautiful smiles in the process.
“We love when our patients actually look forward to their appointments or even, believe it or not, don’t want the process to end,” beamed Mullally. “That’s what happens when you are having fun!”
At Studio32, patients are given the opportunity to engage and interact during the orthodontic process. With the Smile Crew rewards program, younger patients are encouraged to earn points throughout their journey at Studio32.
“It’s a motivator for wearing your rubber bands, keeping your teeth cleaned, showing up for your appointment on time, and so forth,” said Mullally. “We also give points for good grades and community service.”
Studio32 happily serves patients of all ages. Adult orthodontics has become increasingly popular in recent years, which is reflected in the office’s all-ages design appeal. Mullally firmly believes it’s important for people of any age to enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile.
“Whether we like it or not, society places great importance on a beautiful smile,” said Mullally. “Research shows that people with a beautiful smile get better grades, advance quicker and get better promotions at work.”
In addition to a thoughtful patient experience, Studio32 offers a variety of treatment options for both children and adults, including metal braces, clear ceramic braces, WildSmiles braces with fun shapes and Invisalign. Mullally regularly attends continuing education events and advanced study groups to keep up-to-date with the latest treatment techniques and technology. Mullally tries to incorporate the latest proven technology, without passing on higher fees to her patients.
“We don’t jump into marketing claims and hype if there’s no substance there,” added Mullally. “We try to pick the technology that will make a difference in our patients’ lives.”
Moreover, Studio32 is making an impact by helping more than just patients; the practice has proven itself beyond orthodontics. Studio32 serves as an active participant in the Greater Gainesville community through event sponsorships and volunteering.
“As a team, we have focused on giving back to
the community,” Mullally said. “Our goal is not only to bring smiles to our patients, but also to
our community.”
