Moonlight & Martinis: Benefitting Al’z Place

Aging can be an unforgiving process. Anyone who has been affected by Alzheimer’s understands how devastating it is to have a loved one stare at him or her unsure if they’ve ever met them before. Quality care for Alzheimer’s patients is the focus of Al’z Place, a division of Eldercare of Alachua County.

On Saturday, February 7, 2015, Eldercare will host the 8th Annual “Moonlight and Martinis” to raise funds for Al’z Place, Adult Day Care. Al’z Place provides day care in a safe, homelike atmosphere to those with Alzheimer’s disease or severe memory impairment. The mission of Al’z Place is to have seniors remain independent in their homes for as long as possible for a better quality of life in their aging days.

Al’z Place provides organized, therapeutic programs and social activities in a supervised setting.  “We’re fortunate to have a center like this for adults in our community, and I think that we should do everything we can to maintain these valuable services,” Anthony Clarizio, executive director, ElderCare of Alachua County said.

Guests attending Moonlight and Martinis will enjoy signature martinis and food from local restaurants. The event will be held at Mercedes Benz of Gainesville.
