In the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings, UF Health Shands Hospital was rated the No. 1 hospital overall in Florida and among the nation’s best hospitals in nine medical specialties:

One other specialty, neurology and neurosurgery, is rated as “high performing,’’ meaning it ranked in the top 10% of hospitals reviewed by U.S. News.
No other Florida hospital has more than nine adult specialties ranked in the nation’s Top 50, up from seven ranked specialties a year ago. For the sixth year in a row, UF Health Shands is ranked in more adult and pediatric specialties combined than any other hospital in the state — a total of 12.
U.S. News also reviewed treatment of “common procedures and conditions” at hospitals nationwide. UF Health has been rated “high performing” for seven adult procedures, the fourth consecutive year it has been rated in five or more areas. Those are lung cancer surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, colon cancer surgery, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hip replacement and knee replacement.
