New County Veteran Services Director

Kim Smith has been hired as the new Alachua County Veteran Services director. Before coming to work for the county, Kim served honorably in both the United States Navy and the Florida Army National Guard. She also served as president of the Family Support and Readiness of the 325th and 690th Companies within the Florida Army National Guard. She counseled military families about troop deployment, employment and re-employment rights, benefits and entitlements. More recently, Kim worked for the State of Florida, serving as both a Disabled Veterans Outreach Specialist and the Lead Local Veterans Employment Representative.

The 98.5 KTK Family Grows!

Welcome the newest member of the 98.5 KTK family, Kathy Hess, who now co-hosts the KTK morning show with Storm Roberts.

Kathy is a native of Wisconsin and has been working in Illinois for the past several years. Her son attends the University of South Florida, and her daughter will be enrolling there in 2014. Kathy is excited to be a part of the community and work at 98.5 KTK.
