ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – Alachua County Public works invites residents to attend an upcoming public workshop regarding the SW 8th Ave Connector project on December 12, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG) Family Resource Center (807 SW 64th Terrace, Gainesville).
SW 8th Ave currently does not connect from Tower Road to SW 20th Ave. The proposed project will be to construct the roadway from Tower Road to SW 20th Ave and through the Hidden Oaks Park, with sidewalks on either side of the roadway. The proposed design includes Traditional Neighborhood Design with center medians and parking near the SWAG center.
The 8th Ave Connector project will be brought to the Board of County Commissioners in January, 2014 for a discussion of the design elements.
