UF Health Emergency Center at Kanapaha Opens for Patients
The UF Health Emergency Center at Kanapaha opened in October on Southwest Archer Road, about 2.5 miles west of Interstate 75. The 10,881-square-foot E.R. features 14 exam spaces and two rooms dedicated to rapid triaging and patient examinations. The full-service E.R. is open 24/7, is staffed by physicians board-certified in emergency medicine and can provide the same level of emergency care as a hospital-based E.R. If patients need further care or admission to the hospital, the transition of care to the UF Health Shands E.R. on the main hospital campus will be seamless.
UF Health Children’s Surgical Center Expands to Meet Community Needs
The new UF Health Children’s Surgical Center opened its doors in April 2016 to pediatric patients and their families. Patients will benefit from an expanded facility, which will accommodate the growing need for specialized care for children. The new 17,500-square-foot building is located on Hull Road off Southwest 34th Street. It is connected to the UF Health Florida Surgical Center and has its own family-friendly entrance and waiting area.
